Downtown Discoveries: Meet, Game, Refuel

This month, I had the pleasure of visiting Epoch Game Lounge, owned by the fantastic Leeah and Andy Lynn. Celebrating their one-year anniversary, Epoch has quickly become a beloved fixture in the downtown community. However, the Lynns have faced some unique challenges, but also have been presented with tremendous opportunities. Upon opening Epoch, the Lynns were worried that people would be slow to notice their presence. However, they cherish their location as it allows them to feel deeply connected to the vibrant community, while also forging new friendships along the way.

Now, let’s dive into the culinary delights that await you at Epoch. When it comes to the menu, there’s something to please every palate. Andy raves about their mouth-watering grilled cheese, while Leeah prefers their jalapeño poppers. Leeah explained that they had to include an extra sink in the kitchen just so they could use fresh jalapeños. With that much dedication, you have to give them a try! As for cocktails, Leeah is impartial to Sonic Screwdriver, a cocktail of her own creation, although she also enjoys the Red Dead Revolver. Their commitment to crafting unique and memorable culinary experiences shines through every dish and drink.

Beyond food and drink, Epoch is a hub of excitement and camaraderie. The restaurant’s name, Epoch, holds profound meaning as it signifies an important moment in time. This sentiment perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Leeah and Andy’s business. Not only does their menu change quarterly to showcase the best seasonal ingredients, but they also curate events that bring people together. From Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros tournaments to drag brunches, Epoch knows how to create an ambiance that fosters lasting memories and new friendships.

Reflecting on their first year of operation, both Leeah and Andy have cherished moments that epitomize the sense of community they’ve cultivated. Andy fondly recalls a gathering in the King’s Den where two groups of strangers entered and left as friends. Leeah’s favorite memory is the anniversary party where they were surrounded by their favorite people who have helped them create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like family.

Epoch is more than a restaurant, bar, or game lounge; it’s a testament to the power of connection and the joy that comes from sharing good food, good company, and good “vibes”. As we step into Epoch’s second year, we can only imagine the extraordinary experiences that await us at this downtown haven. So, if you find yourself strolling through Downtown Wenatchee, don’t miss the chance to discover Epoch – a true place to meet, game, and refuel.
