Wenatchee Convention Center Expansion Project
Why is the City doing this Project?
The Wenatchee Convention Center (WCC) showcases and celebrates the connection with Wenatchee and the downtown urban fabric. Owned by the City of Wenatchee and operated by Coast Hospitality Group, WCC is dedicated to bringing visitors to Wenatchee and serving the community and state by hosting local events, celebrations, large events, and conferences.
The goal of this project is to attract new clientele, better serve events/users of the space, allow for flexibility, provide needed amenities, and facilitate ease of coordination with the attached Numerica Performing Arts Center.
What will the Project include?
The project consists of the construction of a 2-story building addition (total of ~24,000 SF) attached to the existing Wenatchee Convention Center and Numerica Performing Arts Center. The upper level of the expansion will add three breakout rooms, pre-function space, back of house space, kitchen expansion, additional IT and electrical rooms and an office. The lower level of the expansion will add restrooms, additional pre-function area, and an unfinished assembly area.
What to expect?
Construction began on May 7, 2024. The working hours of this project are 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Thursday.
A portion of the parking lot along Columbia Avenue will be utilized as contractor laydown and contractor parking and 1st Street will be closed the duration of the project. There will be traffic control and detours in place for vehicular traffic, bikes, and pedestrians. Please see the logistics layout showing the areas affected by the closure.
The project is scheduled to be complete in August 2025.
